IMHO Safety Hub

IMHO Safety Center

Honest questions deserve a safe space.

At IMHO, we believe in raw, real, and respectful conversations. Whether you're sharing thoughts or asking bold questions, your safety is at the heart of everything we build. This is your space to connect authentically — without the fear of hate, harm, or harassment.

We've designed IMHO with strong safeguards and a team that actually cares. Our moderation systems, community rules, and human support team work hand-in-hand to keep your experience positive and your identity protected. In case of any flagged message or sender, our team reviews it and solves the case within 24 hours.

You're never alone — and we mean it. 💬

🛠️ Our Approach to Safety

Our promise? To build a space where honesty thrives without compromise. From real-time filters to responsive moderation, we've built an entire safety ecosystem that evolves with the online world.

You control how much you're comfortable with:

  • IMHO uses the Google Perspective API automated system to scan messages for inappropriate content as the first layer of protection.
  • Block senders who cross the line
  • Filter out messages with custom keywords
  • Report anything that feels off, and we'll review it

Behind the scenes, our Safety Team works around the clock, reviewing reports, answering questions, and enforcing our guidelines. Nothing gets ignored. No concern is too small.

Need help? Email us at support@imho.cool — we're listening 24/7.

🧠 Smart Moderation, Real Humans

We use Google Perspective API to scan every message before it reaches you. This tech flags potential violations like hate speech, harassment, or threats — so you don't have to.

But we don't rely on bots alone. Our human moderation team makes a balance of both the best worlds (AI's efficiency and humans emotional perspective), which further adds empathy, nuance, and context where machines fall short. Together, this system helps keep IMHO a chill, respectful space for everyone.

Our team monitors user reports and support tickets 24/7 to make sure that users feel safe while using IMHO. IMHO uses Google Perspective API to help detect toxic, disrespectful, or threatening language in messages. This tool analyzes and scores content based on its potential to harm, allowing us to filter out harmful messages before they ever reach your inbox. It's an important part of how we maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone on IMHO.

We know the line between expression and harm can be thin, but we work hard to protect that balance.

đźš« Reporting + Blocking + Remove

Spotted something you shouldn't have to see? Take action in seconds:

  • Tap the ⚠️ icon on any message
  • Select any option from - Remove message, Block sender, and Raise a Concern.
  • Choose “Block sender” if needed

Once reported, we'll assess the content against our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Violations can result in warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans. Once a user gets reported 5 times, they’re put in review mode. Our team checks their activity and soft deletes them, after which any messages they send won’t show up in anyone’s inbox while we sort things out.

Your reports help keep IMHO safe — for you, and for others.

FAQs

1. What is and isn’t allowed on IMHO?
At IMHO, we’re all about real talk — but there’s a line between honesty and harm. We don’t allow any content that includes bullying, hate speech, harassment, threats, discrimination, explicit content, or spam.

We encourage users to keep conversations honest yet respectful. If you wouldn’t say it to someone face-to-face with empathy, it probably doesn’t belong on IMHO. To get the full picture, check out our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
2. Can I block message senders on IMHO?
100%. If you ever receive a message that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or just not okay, you can block that sender immediately.

Here’s how:
  • Tap the ⚠️ icon on the message
  • Choose the “Block sender” option
  • Confirm by choosing the “Yes, Block” option

Once blocked, that person will no longer be able to send you messages on IMHO.
3. I received a message that feels like an emergency — what should I do?
If there’s any chance that you or someone else is in immediate danger, please reach out to the support contact right away.

Once you’re safe and help has been contacted, please report the message in the app or email us at support@imho.cool. We’ll review the situation and take appropriate action, which may include banning the sender or alerting relevant authorities.

Your safety is always our top priority.
4. I got a message that’s concerning, but not urgent. Can I still report it?
Absolutely. If something about the message feels off, even if it’s not an emergency, it still deserves attention.

You can report the message through the app (via the ⚠️ icon) or email us at support@imho.cool with details. Our moderation team will look into it, consider any necessary context, and take the next steps.

Sometimes it’s just about peace of mind, and we’re here to provide that.
5. Are there any mental health or well-being resources available?
We’re currently building a helpful Resources page to connect users with emotional support and professional help services. In the meantime, if you’re struggling or need guidance, we strongly encourage reaching out to a trusted adult, local helpline, or support organization in your area.

You can also contact our team at support@imho.cool — we can help you find relevant services or point you in the right direction. You’re not alone.
6. Are messages reviewed before I receive them?
Yes — IMHO uses Google’s Perspective API to help detect toxic, disrespectful, or threatening language in messages. This tool analyzes and scores content based on its potential to harm, allowing us to filter out harmful messages before they ever reach your inbox.

Still, no system is perfect, so if something slips through, report it immediately, or mail us at IMHO SUPPORT we’ll handle it with our 24/7 support. We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure your IMHO space feels safe, real, and respectful.

🌱 Respect Is Non-Negotiable

We believe in a world where people can ask, confess, and connect — without fear. That’s the IMHO vibe. Help us protect it.
